UKEMI WAZA

Ukemi is all about falling properly to avoid injury, as well as prompt distance and evasion from an opponent. Ukemi is very important in judo, jiu-jitsu, and also karate because you are constantly trying to unseat an attacker by off-balancing them, taking them down, or throwing them to the ground. Knowing how to fall properly can also come in handy just walking down the street on uneven pavement, traversing snow or ice-covered streets, and even bypass danger in your own home slipping and tripping on things like soap, grease, or carpeting.
